I have a website located at www.bensonfan.net. I used margin: 0 auto within a wrapper <div> to center the main table and it works in all browsers except IE8. I have tried adding a doctype to the browser but when I do that it messes up the first half of my layout (above the main content and sidebar).

Can someone go through and examine my code to help me resolve this issue? I use PHP includes for the header and the sidebar.

The files are located at,

www.bensonfan.net/layouts/v2/content.php and www.bensonfan.net/layouts/v2/sidebar.php.

My stylesheet is located at www.bensonfan.net/layouts/v2/style.css. If someone is able to help me out with this I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

  • I believe your question was answered before over here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/662341/using-margin-0-auto-in-internet-explorer-8 – Joe T Jul 31 '13 at 00:21
  • It is always a good idea to use http://jsfiddle.net when you have a question about css/js/html. No-one like to trawl through other people's code! – Beno Jul 31 '13 at 00:37

"I've tried adding a doctype..."? Sorry, but you're approaching it the wrong way. Always put in a doctype! It's _removing_ the doctype that messes up the page! Seriously. Also, you have 167 errors. – Mr Lister Jul 31 '13 at 07:44
