maxlength attribute create issue with string length in textarea control

I had one textarea and i am showing remaining characters for it and applied maxlength attribute with value 140.

now i had added 117(1 to 0 num) + number of enter key(11) = 128 . though it not allowed to enter my remaining 12 character. had a lot RND for it but didn't get nay solution . Help me badly stuck in this issue. Thank you.

Does it cout CR and LineBreak as 2 chars for the enter key? – Kangkan Jul 10 '13 at 09:23

set the size bigger, or it seems, you are counting them in some script. If so, why don't you show them? – Kangkan Jul 10 '13 at 11:15
