Hi there I'm stuck with what I think is a small issue, but this makes me a headache.

I have activity with 4 buttons and 10 EditText view's, when activity starts, user has to select corresponding buttons to his needs and then enter value into edittext field. Now, when app starts the focus on first edittext selects and soft keyboard appears, which I don't want to happen.

I have removed request focus tags on graphical layout editor and also tried the same thing in XML file, but problem still persists.

Please tell me what options regulate appearance of keyboard?

You can prevent the keyboard from popping up on app start by adding the android:windowSoftInputMode="stateHidden" attribute to the respective manifest activity node.
