From my android application you can download a PDF file, that is stored on your SD card, I want to be invisible to the user, so change you the extension of the file, but does not seem enough, so I would like to be able to edit the pdf and insert a string at the beginning of the pdf, so that it is unusable if that this string in the pdf.

If you could tell me how to open / convert the pdf to string the string to add to the beginning, or some other type of method would be grateful.

Check out http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html for various options for manipulating files in android. If you want the file to be private to your application, instead of changing extension and file header, you might want to consider rights. As an example consider the following line that opens a file for output in a mode that is private. That is, no one but your application would be able to access the file:

FileOutputStream fos = openFileOutput(FILENAME, Context.MODE_PRIVATE);

  • Thanks for the reply, the problem is that I only managed code to display a pdf from the sd card. If it had been able to find a viewer of pdf's from a pdf hosted in enforcement would have been better for my. – jlopez Jul 03 '12 at 08:34
