ASP.Net static method always return same result

I have a static method that looks like this

public static User GetUser(Guid? UserID = null)
{
    UserID = UserID ?? GetUserID();
    return (from u in gdb.Users where u.UserID == UserID select u).Single();
}

Problem is, it always returns the same result. As you can see, it get's it's data from my DB. Even when i change the data in the DB, it returns the same. It's first when i restart the debugging as it starts getting the latest values from the DB. What could cause this? I don't havy outputcache or similiar anywhere.

I'm assuming you are using some kind of Linq2Sql? – Tejs Apr 24 '12 at 17:54
What is gdb.Users? The behavior you're describing would occur if gdb.Users is a list of Users that's only initiated on start up. – DMulligan Apr 24 '12 at 18:01

You should avoid creating a static DataContext. Either create one per operation or per request. – Ben Foster Apr 24 '12 at 22:57
