I'm often faced with exporting data as CSV. The nature of the outpu is comparable of the PIvotTable feature in excel.

There are sample code to produce simple Pivot in C#. But as you have 2 or more column then things get pretty complicated. I can imagine someone would suggest to use Reporting service or other BI tools but these are no options for our small team.

Could it be that someone had an idea of how to produce pivot outpu of more then 2 columns and one segregated row?

    What is the sample code you looked at for C# pivoting? And what do you mean more than 2 columns gets complicated? Pivoting is almost always used with more than 2 columns. – Terry Apr 15 '12 at 15:35
  • http://extensionmethod.net/Details.aspx?ID=147 this example group by 2 columns and aggreagates on the third. In exceel, you can just group by as many column as you wish... – Meelfan Bmfp Apr 15 '12 at 15:44
