I'm a total beginner at comparing spectrograms, is there any way to compare differences between two spectrograms or two mp3 files? I've seen people subtract two spectrograms to show only the difference and tried using photoshop. Any help or tips…

How can I remove high frequencies from a spectrogram, or from the original audio files?
I have been given sample audio files. Some are transcoded from low bitrate to high.
When I create a spectrogram using SoX I get frequencies extending up from 15kHz to 22kHz.
