The Z8000 was a 16-bit microprocessor, released by Zilog in 1979. It wasn't very successful, because the 8086 family had appeared earlier and taken substantial market share, and the 16/32-bit Motorola 68000 appeared only a few months later.

Did the Z8000 ever hit the home computer market?

The Z80 had a massive presence in the 8-bit revolution, but I can’t remember any system with a Z8000. Did it ever hit this market?
