Metrics questions are generally about:

  1. What things to measure.
  2. How to measure those things.

Some common uses of the metrics tag would include questions about:

  1. Key performance indicators (KPIs).
  2. Velocity and burn-down charts.
  3. Throughput or cycle-time analyses.
  4. Completion or activity estimates, e.g. "This task is 83% done."

See also measurement. Metrics questions should always provide sufficient context to elicit potentially canonical answers, and present clear business rules or well-defined processes that explain how the metrics are related to measurable goals or outcomes.
