MMA enthusiast, been watching, reading, following, & occasionally training as a hobby since 2002. I actually watched my 1st UFC event in the late 90's with my step-dad it was either UFC 2 or 3 we rented from Blockbuster video. We also rented another month's or even a year or 2 later that featured the 1st tournament that Tank Abott competed. Then got back into UFC heavily around 15 years old & training Tang Soo Do, my mom had this card you could buy from this guy that gave you every directtv ppv for a whole year for $200, every ppv movie & sporting events, etc so I watched literally every single PPV from 2002 till present, as after I moved out around 2007 (last ppv I watched at parents house was Chuck vs Rampage 2 :( ) I just started paying for PPV's myself, & by that time MMA or UFC really was starting to blow up from The Ultimate Fighter's success a couple of years before. Since then I have watched every PPV, occasionally training, Tang Soo Do, Boxing, & Jiu-Jitsu randomly on & off. I read Sherdog, MMA Junkie & ESPN articles as well as UFC's themselves & considered myself to be extremely knowledgeable on the sport for a fan that doesn't compete professionally. Also am into Baseball, Football, & Basketball in that order. Living in Texas born & raised north of Houston I am a huge Astros fan, I also cheer for the Rockets. My football allegiance unfortunately belong to the Cowboys as when I was a 10 year old boy right at the time of your life you are growing allegiances to "your" teams Houston area did not have a football team the only team I could watch on Sunday on Fox26 was the Dallas Cowboys. From 1997-2001 5 seasons during which 10 year old me thru to 15 year old me watched Dallas as Texas' team then, having won Superbowls in 1992, 1993, & 1995. In 2002 they sucked, but so did the new NFL franchise the Houston Texans, by that time I tried to switch to watch the Texans as Houstons team again but I just couldn't care as much about their games as I did the Cowboys game no matter how much I tried or wanted to. So I decided to stop fighting it sometimes our teams choose us you don't get to pick really which team truly makes you feel invested that will literally effect your mood & personal life based on their successes or failures. You just know as a fan that certain team once you have found it. Baseball is my greatest passion, followed by MMA & NFL tied for 2nd, with Basketball being 4th. I get invested in the Rockets some, but even when they lost in game 7 of the WCF to GS it sucked I was bummed out for a day or 2 but it didn't ruin my life for a few months like it did when the Astros lost to the Nationals & Braves in the WS lol. It bothers me in between those 2 for NFL & MMA. About a week once my team loses in playoffs or after my fav fighter in that weight class loses.
