magento minicart add subtotal in icon area where count is shown

Seems like a pretty simple task but I've edited minicart.phtml with and can't seem to figure out why I can't get subtotal next to the shopping cart icon and item count in the upper right…

How to disable redirect from mini cart to editing cart page if the minimum order amount is not reached

I want customers to just get an alert without redirecting. Trying to figure out where redirect is happening. Any suggestions? Magento 2.3.4. Thanks a lot.
