Volenna=Granblue Fantasy Theater Guard captain for Brillet Desert, a town surrounded by sand, Volenna is a strict taskmaster who speaks with piercing ferocity and holds herself to the same high standards she places on others. Still empathetic, she understands the loneliness Sara endures, but thinks of it as something she can overcome, believing that Sara has the strength to do so. At times, Volenna entertains the thought of giving Sara more freedom, but ultimately decides against it each time. Despite her harsh attitude and manner of speaking, she's a caring and responsible girl with excellent housekeeping abilities. |

Taking the Lead at Camp[edit]
The crew is setting up camp near a watering hole. While Katalina prepares a meal, Volenna goes to get water, but she comes running back due to a sudden stench from the camp. Volenna is shocked to learn that the smell is from Katalina's soup, and she decides to join the crew to help them with basic chores.
During their travels, (Captain) and company meet Volenna, who is pursuing a certain primal beast.
They decide to accompany her on her search.
Katalina: Well, we've been walking for a while. It looks like there's a watering hole nearby, so let's camp here for the night.
Volenna: It's not like we've traveled very far, but I guess the children with us have had enough.
Volenna: I'll go fetch some water. You light a fire and start setting up camp. And keep your eyes open for monsters.
Lyria: Oh! Dinner time! Say, Katalina, what will you be making?
Katalina: Maybe something to warm us up... Soup, perhaps? I'll see what I can whip up.
Lyria: Sounds good! I'll help, too.
Vyrn: Oh, gimme a break! Just one of you is bad enough, trust me...
Volenna: Hey! What's this stench? I could smell it from half the forest away!
Lyria: I'm sorry... We were making soup, but we burned it...
Volenna: You burned it? Is that supposed to explain this stench? What sort of garbage did you put in that soup?
Katalina: Ugh... This is really embarrassing. I was as careful as I could be, but I've never been much for cooking.
Volenna: No excuses! Camping is a basic part of being a soldier. Did you even pass your training?
Volenna: I expected better of you. The ingredients were in this bag, right? I'll just throw together the leftover dried meat and some root vegetables...
Vyrn: This is amazing! I can't believe how fast you did that! That's some real talent there, Volenna!
Volenna: Talent? Any monkey could do this. All I did was chop it up and fry it. Now hurry up and eat it while it's still hot.
Lyria: Thank you so much! Wow! The more I chew it, the better it tastes!
Volenna: Haven't you ever had dried meat before? Hey! Eat the vegetables, too, not just the meat!
Vyrn: We could really use someone like you in our crew. Don't you agree, (Captain)?
Choose: Sure. I mean, you'd be a big help.
Volenna: Flattery will get you nowhere with me. Would you like seconds?
Choose: Sure. You're a great cook after all.
Volenna: Don't be silly. I'm sure you can handle something as simple as cooking, (Captain).
Katalina: H-hang on... It's not as simple as you make it out to be. I mean, I—
Continue 1Volenna: But I guess I owe you people. I'm more than happy to lend a hand.
Lyria: Yay! And let's stay together after we find that primal beast too!
Volenna: I hadn't given any thought to what happens once we achieve our objective, but I guess that'd be fine.
Volenna: I can't let you people live like barbarians. I'm gonna drill the basics of cooking, laundry, and every other chore I can think of into you!
Volenna: You better prepare yourselves!
Volenna proves to be a strict taskmaster, but the rest of the crew occasionally catches a glimpse of her inner kindness.
Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of (Captain)'s group, she finds her own way of life slowly changing as well.
What Can I Do for You?[edit]
One day a small girl comes to request that the crew find a ribbon that she's lost for a small sum. The ribbon is a keepsake from her mother, but Volenna coldly tells the girl to find it herself.
One day (Captain) and company are approached by a little girl with a request.
Girl: Um... Is this enough to pay for your help?
Katalina: What's wrong? Tell us what happened.
Girl: Well... I went on a picnic the other day, but monsters showed up, and I dropped my ribbon.
Lyria: So you want us to find your ribbon?
Girl: Yes, please. My mom gave it to me before she died...
Volenna: You seriously think we're going to help you for that chump change? If it's that important to you, go look for it yourself.
Katalina: Stop it! She's only a child, and we're talking about a keepsake from her mother.
Volenna: Don't be stupid. And don't spoil her.
Girl: You mean... you won't...
Lyria: Oh no! Don't cry. We'll help you look for it.
Girl: Really? You'd do that for me?
Katalina: Of course. We'll find your ribbon for you. Right, (Captain)?
Volenna: You're really going to do this, (Captain)? You people are softies. At least hurry up so we don't waste any more time.
Vyrn: Ah! Hey! Wait for us, Volenna! Wow... She's as cold as ice sometimes.
What Can I Do for You?: Scene 2[edit]
(Captain) and company start searching for the girl's ribbon. However, Volenna says they shouldn't spoil her by looking, especially since she lost her mother and needs to be strong.
Katalina: Hmm... The girl must have taken this path when she fled.
Volenna: But wasn't the attack a few days ago? Her ribbon could have been torn to shreds by now.
Lyria: But it's so important to her...
Volenna: You can't just go around helping everybody. You'll cause more harm than good like that.
Katalina: What? Why don't you quit saying things to push others away?
Volenna: If you spoil her, she'll only become more dependent on you. And she's the one who will suffer for that later.
Volenna: Her mother's dead, which is one more reason she needs to be strong. By carelessly helping her, you only hurt her.
Lyria: Ha-ha...
Volenna: What are you giggling about?
Lyria: Nothing... I'm just happy that you want to help her, even if we have different ideas about how to do that.
Volenna: Humph, that's enough of your abstract musing. Anyway, don't just look for the ribbon—watch your surroundings too! Monsters are coming.
Katalina: She always acts like she's so hard... All right, (Captain). Let's beat down those monsters and find that ribbon!
What Can I Do for You?: Scene 3[edit]
The crew hurries to the girl after finding the ribbon. She's disappointed to see how tattered it is, but Volenna tells her that it can be mended, showing her a bit of tough love.
Katalina: I found it! This must be the ribbon she was talking about!
Volenna: Good. Now let's get back to town before night falls.
Lyria: Yeah, let's get the ribbon back to her right away!
Lyria: Here's your ribbon. It's a bit tattered, but we found it!
Girl: Thank you! But it never would have gotten so dirty or frayed if I had hung onto it...
Volenna: That damage is proof of your weakness.
Girl: Yes... I know.
Volenna: Become stronger to protect what you love. I know you can do that.
Volenna: And don't cry. Dirt can be washed off and frays can be mended. It's a simple fix. Mistakes can always be fixed.
Girl: But my mom is gone... Who'll teach me to sew?
Volenna: You're worried about that? I'll teach you. If you want to learn, that is.
Girl: Huh? Really?
Volenna: Hurry up. I hate wasting time.
Girl: Thank you, miss! I'll do my best to learn how to sew!
Katalina: After all that tough talk, you're a big softie yourself.
Volenna: I obviously caught it from you.
Volenna: But it doesn't feel half-bad.
Lyria: Ah! I want to learn how to sew too!
Katalina: Do you? That's admirable of you, Lyria. Maybe I should take lessons from Volenna too.
Volenna: Really, Katalina... You don't even know how to sew? Then don't insert yourself here.
Girl: Ha-ha! You two are such good friends.
Volenna: And what in the world makes you say that?
Lyria: Don't worry about her! We're all good friends!
Volenna is strict on herself and others but only because she cares so deeply for her allies.
There will likely be others who will come to like her for her strength and kindness.
