I am 44, relatively new to the conventions of the online world; I resisted tech more from inertia than conviction, though. Around two years ago a friend made a gift of a smartphone, and now I admit to having both fallen a fair bit behind and missing just reading and writing by the analog method. Recently I've begun self-publishing my writing, mostly poetry, online and honestly the response has been much better than anticipated after so many years spent believing that I wouldn't be able to get the readers relate to me the way I did when I was younger. I love philosophy, music, cats, history and the seemingly endless malleability of the English language. Trying to learn German has graphically shown how much I have let my precise English grammar definitions lapse, but not my understanding; so as I learn hopefully I can do the same for others.
