Questions tagged [aspect]

General issues about verb aspect, perfective, continuous, etc.

This tag is for questions that are generally about verb aspect, where no particular aspect type is required.

Aspect is the attribute of a verb that tells you not when but what state of completion the action is. This include complete/finished action, continuous or constant action where stopping or starting is not involved, regularity of the action (whether it was once or often). Like other verb attributes, aspect can be communicated by choice of a verb conjugation or by standalone particles or markers or vocabulary items (or something in between).

See Grammatical Aspect on Wikipedia for more details.
