Does a сотейник have to have a handle? – gotube Nov 13 '22 at 05:21

@gotube yes, I believe so – Sergey Zolotarev Nov 14 '22 at 00:44

I ask because when I image search for "сотейник" I find several pans without handles, but none when I search for "saucepan". A saucepan always has a handle. – gotube Nov 14 '22 at 02:21

"Saucepan" is definitely much more common. Some people might reserve "sauce pan" for a pan of this shape which is small enough for preparing sauces (especially French-style sauces). – Stuart F Nov 13 '22 at 14:39
