I am an Anglo-Catholic Christian who was raised in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church but now as an adult attends an Anglo-Catholic parish connected to the Anglican Church of Canada.
I received a more than proper catholic education throughout my entire youth and attended a year as a noviciate of the Legionnaires of Christ following my graduation from high school. After careful prayer and contemplation, it was revealed to me that Holy Orders was not my calling and I joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a Warfare Officer.
I am a strong proponent of the branch theory of catholicism and pray for unity within the entire catholic faith. Even though I am technically Anglican and protestant, I consider my faith to be wholly catholic, with no part of my church being in conflict with the tenants of universal catholicism. For this reason you will often see me cite and rely on writings from Catholic Church fathers and the Bishop of Rome in addition to the patriarchs and leaders of other Catholic Churches around the world.
I've prayed the Liturgy of the Hours since I was first introduced to them at 15 years old, and continue to do so even as a member of the Anglican Communion. I believe that these prayers are the most powerful tool for laity to bring the sacraments and life of the church into their own lives and homes on a daily basis.
