Christian Pacifism - an opposition to war and violence based on the example and teaching of Christ
Pacifism is not an exclusively Christian position, nor are all Christians absolute pacifists - many believe in the doctrine of 'just war'. However, Pacifism has had a place within Christian teaching and practice from the time of Christ through to the present day and certain denomination such as the Society of Friends (Quakers) are particularly noted for their strict adherance to the principles of pacifism.
