I made this by following these steps.

Is there any way to model this quicker? Like an extrude inward operation.

What you're looking for is AltE > Extrude Manifold:

@HarryMcKenzie Not really, because like the "normal" Extrude you can Extrude Manifold in both directions... and the normal one is not called Intrude either ;) Btw, just for info: you get the same result like Extrude Manifold with the regular Extrude if you enable Dissolve Orthogonal Edges in the tool options afterwards (this is enabled by default on Extrude Manifold, if you disable it there the result looks like the normal Extrude). – Gordon Brinkmann Jul 12 '23 at 12:47
  • @GordonBrinkmann hey that's actually interesting as well with the dissolve orthogonal option, i will upvote if ever u decide to post it :) EDIT: oh question closed lol – Harry McKenzie Jul 12 '23 at 15:56
  • Yeah, actually already closed when I wrote that comment. – Gordon Brinkmann Jul 12 '23 at 18:19
