The war with the Dark Kingdom is going badly, and the Sailor Senshi naturally have a problem. Usagi never became Sailor Moon, nor is she the Moon Princess, so the leadership of the Senshi falls to Minako, as Sailor Venus. All of Sailor Mars' attempts to divine the location of the Moon Princess have, so far, failed. But just as they are about to give up hope, Mars finally locates the Moon Princess; her name is Takamachi Nanoha, age 16. She's back on planet for her brother's wedding.

That's the good news. The bad news is that Nanoha's still recovering from her injuries incurred during the timeskip between A's and Striker S. Luna attempts to make contact, but is brushed off by Fate, who has made it her personal mission that nothing interrupt Nanoha's recovery. Things begin to go downhill from there...

Even worse, Queen Beryl has noticed that her most hated rival, the Moon Princess, has returned from wherever she was hiding, and she's not about to let things go, no sir.

  • Alliteration: Chapter 12, "Strike, Scapegoat, Sacrifice"
  • A Handful for an Eye: Ami throws a handful of magically created ice crystals into the face of a youma to distract it long enough to transform.
  • Alternate Universe: Nanoha got injured at 16, not 12 like in canon. This is an author-induced change invoked partially to reduce the squick factor in the Nanoha/Mamoru pairing and partially to assist with the problem of two middle-school students living on their own and not attending school (High school being optional in Japan).
  • Anger Born of Worry: Fate scolds Nanoha for overexerting herself again, telling her how much she's worried about her.

      • Technically, they do, they mention that they've seen that sort of thing before, and that they ended up blowing it up to get rid of it.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Nanoha. Better than half the conflict in the first part of the story stems from this; if the Senshi succeed in asking Nanoha for her help, she'll try to help them as best she can regardless of what it may cost her.
    • Hotaru is willing to heal anyone she sees get hurt even though she knows that most of her patients hate her and will only hate her more afterwards. This behavior doesn't change even after learning that

  • Love Ruins the Realm: As Nanoha points out, the Dark Kingdom invasion is only one possible negative outcome of Serenity's trips to Earth and affair with Endymion.

It seems to be only serve the purpose of painting the other future as a bad one because it's built on Reincarnation Romance even though it does not make it a less valid future.
    • The Bureau isn't immune to this either. Hayate arrests the Senshi for assaulting Fate in spite of the Senshi being outside the Bureau's jurisdiction -- they aren't interdimensional criminals and Earth isn't a part of the Bureau, so Hayate can't legally arrest them for anything. She does so anyways, and nobody calls her on it.
      • The Senshi do acknowledge that they committed a crime against their princess by attacking one of her friends. From their perspective, the princess deferred the punishment that they knew they deserved to one of her associates.
      • It should be noted that the TSAB's jurisdiction has never been firmly defined, either in MGLN canon or in the fanfic itself. Given that the assault in question was on one of their officers, it was inevitable that they'd get involved.
  • Mundane Utility: Ami uses her ice powers to make a glass of lemonade into a snow cone in one omake.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: This seems to be one of the major reason Beryl started her rebellion in the first place, jealous that Prince Endymion chose Princess Serenity over herself. Of course, she's gunning for Nanoha in this universe, so as far as most readers are concerned, her attempt is doomed to failure.
    • The pettiness of starting a war for this is Lampshaded both by the cast and in an Omake in which
    • Also, , she says to her face that Nanoha has no interest in Endymion at all, and is perfectly happy with Fate. And that if Beryl hadn't ordered the attack on the wedding, Nanoha wouldn't have even gotten involved. Beryl goes into a combination of BSOD and denial mode.
  • Mythology Gag: Nanoha notices that the bodyguard of a family friend bears a close resemblance to Fate, referencing said bodyguard's existence in Triangle Heart 3 ～sweet songs forever～. At least some wedding guests thought they were siblings.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Some see Nanoha's Calling The Old Woman Out as this, not necessarily because of her arguments (Nanoha is considerably more responsible than Usagi or Serenity), but because throughout, Nanoha is completely blunt and holds nothing back. Others suggest that her emotional state at the time influenced it.
    • Numerous other examples as well for many characters, to the point of being In Name Only in some examples. For instance, when you consider that even Quattro couldn't provoke Nanoha into using lethal force in the main series, her vaporizing Jadeite without so much as batting an eye can't be anything but this.
      • It should be noted that Nanoha had already rescued Vivio by the time she blasted Quattro. Jadeite was still a major threat to not only Nanoha's entire family but dozens of innocents when she blasted him. Additionally she was still injured and likely knew she would only get one shot against what was basically an unknown opponent, it's no wonder she hit him with everything she had.
  • Papa Wolf: Shirou tells Jadeite that he won't stand for people threatening his daughter, but soon afterward, Jadeite breaks his arm, making his threat somewhat hollow.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Luna never bothers to explain to Fate why she needs to talk to Nanoha. Justified when Artemis later explains that was how he and Luna used to do things back during the Moon Kingdom; they're used to having the authority to get things done without being questioned.
    • If you go over the opening chapters and look at what each party is saying to the other from only one perspective at a time, it's more understandable as to why said poor communication turned out so disastrously. As Fate said, "It doesn't matter what is true, but what the person believes to be true."
  • Post Mortem One Liner: "Was there anybody else who had a reason why these two should not be wed?"
  • Power Creep, Power Seep: Naturally, there has to be a bit of power level balancing to be done with this sort of crossover, given the two different magics at work. Gets sort of ridiculous in chapter 6, however, where Jupiter is said to have knocked out two TSAB Mooks with her bare hands.
    • Possibly justified – Jupiter is the only one of the Inners with any kind of formal martial arts training, and the average TSAB mook is a Squishy Wizard due to the TSAB putting more focus on magical combat than hand-to-hand. When Makoto trains with Zafira, who is extremely skilled, she gets her ass kicked several times before she manages to win even a single spar.
    • Done extremely weirdly. Word of God says the Senshi are badasses for holding off the Dark Kingdom for a year by themselves and their power levels are roughly equivalent to A-rank mages by the Bureau's reckoning, which is a significant boost over their usual performance. In practice, however, they fight with no more competence than they showed in the anime -- arguably less of it -- and struggle to defeat enemies that A-rank mages should be able to steamroll. For instance, one of Precia's Mecha-Mooks (which they have no reason to hold back against) takes the entire team to bring down after analyzing it for weak points.
  • Prophecy Twist: Nephrite foretells that the Moon Princess will come to harm at the wedding ceremony. Beryl takes that to mean that the Moon Princess will die, and has Jadeite attack the wedding.
  • Protected by a Child:

    • Though technically it took Mamoru and Usagi coming to know each other in their present lives before they actually really liked each other in canon, something that is oftentimes ignored.
    • For what it's worth, many reviewers have noted that Nanoha wouldn't be quite as good a match for him as Usagi is, but take that as you well.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: The death of the original Sailor Venus, in the eyes of Nanoha. Not because of anything that Venus did, but because Princess Serenity didn't make any effort to make Venus' sacrifice mean anything.
  • Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Chibi-Moon tries to do this in the omake of Chapter Ten, since Nanoha and Fate getting together would mean her and the future Moon Kingdom vanishing forever. It, um, doesn't work out too well.
    • Of course, Vivio is under the impression that she's doing the same thing when she stops Chibi-Moon.
  • Shout-Out: The disguise pen-fake Nanoha gambit in chapter 12 ends on one of these. The chapter is even called Operation Bowser.

For example, Fate finds "the cat" to be a nuisance who can potentially interrupt Nanoha's recovery, while Luna thinks that "the Dark Senshi" has brainwashed the princess and is threatening the fate of the world. After the two sides start working together, this effect lessens, though.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: The Senshi, without Usagi, do not get along as well as in canon.
  • Tempting Fate: "At least we aren't likely to have any trouble show up at a wedding." Yeah, sure.
