Gearhead Show that originally ran in syndication from 1967 to 1975, hosted by Bud Lindemann. Speed Channel showed reruns of it in the late '90s. The original format consisted of a new-car road test followed by results of the previous week in auto racing. This was one of the few places people could see footage of more than the one race a week network TV would carry in the days before specialty cable channels.

• The road test cars fall into each of the above categories. The show's early years coincide with the peak of the Detroit muscle car and high points like a 1969 Dodge Charger with 426 Hemi, '68 Shelby Mustang, and 1969 AMX are examined, while the Dodge Colt wagon is notable for being treated like an Alleged Car while it was really only Boring but Practical.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Speed last aired the uncut show (and the road tests in any form) in 2002. YouTube is pretty much the only place you'll find them.
• Tech Marches On : Some of the test cars' handling and almost all their stopping distances are appalling by today's standards.
