William M. Mann

William Montana Mann[7] (n. 1886[1][2][3][4] – d. 1960[1][2][3][4]) a fost un entomolog american și al cincilea director al Grădinii Zoologice Naționale din Washington, D.C. din 1925 până în 1956.[8] În 1921, el a călătorit în Expediția Mulford în Amazonia. În 1926, s-a căsătorit cu Lucile Quarry Mann. Cei doi au lucrat împreună ca o echipă pentru a îmbunătăți și promova grădina zoologică, inclusiv mergând în expediții în întreaga lume pentru a colecta specimene vii pentru colecția grădinii zoologice. A absolvit Washington State University și Harvard University.

Mann este comemorat în denumirile științifice a cinci specii și subspecii de reptile: „Amphisbaena manni”, „Lepidodactylus manni”, „Letheobia manni", „Lygodactylus manni” și „Rhinoclemmys pulcherrima manni”.[7]
