- His name may derive from the word exploder. This is a common trait for the names of Sith Overlords in the Star Wars universe, such as Darth Vader, whose name sounds like invader, and Darth Sidious, whose name sounds like insidious.
- He seems to be of the Zabrak species, as he bears a resemblance to Darth Maul, the main antagonist of The Phantom Menace, the first part of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
- The actor playing him in the Sith Invasion re-enactment resembles David X. Cohen and gets the Zabrak horns placed wrong.
